FLORISTRY WORKSHOPS

A SAFE SPACE TO FLOURISH TOGETHER

Take the first step towards joining other women on this shared journey and apply to participate in one of our free workshops.

We know it might feel daunting, especially if you have lived alone with your memories for a long time but we’d like to reassure you there is no obligation or pressure to engage further than you are comfortable. The experience focuses on creating together, rather than acting as a therapeutic setting.

Why community matters

Collective support transforms recovery from an isolated struggle into a shared, empowering process. It matters for those who have experienced sexual violence because it directly counters the isolation, stigma, and self-blame that often follows this type of trauma.

Reduces isolation

People frequently feel alone or misunderstood. Support from others – whether peers, communities, or advocacy groups – restores a sense of belonging.

Validates experiences

Being believed and supported helps women challenge internalised shame and reinforces that the harm was not their fault.

Promotes healing

Social support is strongly linked to better mental health outcomes, including lower rates of depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

Builds empowerment

Collective spaces can help women regain agency, share coping strategies, and advocate for themselves and others.

Drives systemic change

When we come together, we can challenge harmful norms, influence policy, and improve institutional responses.

The impact of sexual violence is long-term, cumulative, and often unsupported beyond the initial crisis stage.

How floristry can help reconnect

Creative activities like floristry can help some women reconnect with aspects of their feminine identity – not because femininity is fixed or defined by certain hobbies, but because these practices create space for expression, embodiment, and self-directed meaning-making.

LUNCH

Sexual violence, whenever and however it happened, leaves invisible scars.

Our workshops are a follow-on service to existing support infrastructure such as crisis centres and talking therapies, specifically for cisgender women over the age of 25. We are not currently able to support those in acute crisis, women under the age of 25, and transgender women. If you are not currently eligible for our service, we have compiled resources below that may be of use at this stage.

Further support

Here is a selection of sexual violence support organisations, charities and counselling or other mental health services that may be of use whether you attend our workshops or require different expertise beyond our scope.
